Saturday morning

This Saturday morning I woke up early. Trust me, 6 am on a weekend IS pretty early. As my feet touched the cold tiles on the floor, I decided not to go back to the bed again. By the time I had poured myself a fresh cup of coffee, I was wide awake.
While sipping my coffee in the balcony, I looked at the sky. The sun had not risen yet. It’s almost November. The sun gets a little lazy by this time of the year. Then why did I, an always tired woman, having sold my soul to the corporate devil, giving my all to my work five days a week, merely getting a five hours sleep on an average, wake up so friggin early on a weekend.
“It’s okay”, I thought to myself. “I’ll get some more rest during the day.” It’s not like I had big plans for the day.
As the caffeine started kicking in, so did the mornig vibes. I started to fall in love with the quiet, the breeze, the birds in the sky, and the early birds out there on the road.
I kind of realized that it is not the morning I loathe, but the plan mapped out for the day which follows it. What if I take lessons from every morning and impart them to the rest of my day and night.
I mean what made this morning so- not-lazy and so- not- hungover, not full of headaches and sleep deprivation. It was that last thought I had before sleeping last night. That happy thought of not having to set my alarm for the next day, that relaxing thought of not having to rush out of the bed to get to the work.
I can induce this perfect enlightening thought everyday then. My life will be so much better and happier. “I don’t know”, I thought, “but this weekend is surely going to be great.”
I went back inside, changed into my gym clothes, smiling throughout. As I came back outside and started putting on my shoes, the sun had risen up, all glowing and beaming.
“Hey buddy”, I said. “Will you forgive me for not paying attention to you in the last five days and not complimenting you for how beautiful you look in the morning? I promise I’ll make it up to you today.”
The sun rays touched my face, the gold colour penetrating through my skin, spreading the warmth all across my soul.
“Thanks buddy”, I said, as I headed downstairs, jogging towards the rest of my day.
